With the lack of a serious overall GC contender, this season has been one of learning about stage races. Whilst the previous attempt at a stage race resulted in zero results, as Wayne Slygh failed to deliver on stage one, this attempt could also result in the same. Lets just say I'm not holding my breath.
Eventually if Lane Langevin continues to develop (still space for TT to get better along with DH and Hill) he'll become our man for an overall challenge, but until that day, experience in how the stage racing system works will have to suffice as the likely only walk-away result.
That said, Wayne does have the back up of 2 of the strongest puncheurs in the race, so the pace for the first hilly stage should be high. Lets see if we can't cause some problems for those lard-arsed riders!
